General
iWedding now starts with network symbol spinning in Top Left Corner?
This is the visual indication that iWedding is performing a self diagnostic and importing any guests that were added to address book. If you have made major changes to address book groups please let this activity finish after syncing your device.
Can I use the details screen for a Business or Guest for anything other than viewing their information?
- Yes. If you press on the Phone number then the iPhone will attempt to dial.
- If you press on the Address then you will be taken to Google Maps App and it will display that location.
- If you press on Email Address then you will be taken to Mail App.
Where can I change Colors of Titles and Toolbars?
iWedding now has a special section in the ‘Settings’ App of your device - Exit iWedding - go into Settings - scroll down and iWedding will be an option. Color of Titles can be chosen here. Standard, All Pink and All Blue.
Where can I Reset iWedding?
iWedding now has a special section in the ‘Settings’ App of your device - Exit iWedding - go into Settings - scroll down and iWedding will be an option. This option activates the Reset Screen - it does not reset iWedding at that moment. Once activated, when you go back into iWedding - a Reset Screen will appear instead and you must confirm. We have changed this to prevent accidental deletion of data.
Deleting
How do I delete Businesses, Guests or Items from iWedding?
Just like the Mail app, iWedding uses the method of ‘Swipe to Delete’. Just swipe your finger across the contact to reveal the ‘Delete’ button and tap to confirm.
This does not delete the contact from the phone.
What and Where can I Delete?
- Businesses which you add to any business list (Removes them for iWedding - NOT deleted from Contacts).
- Guests - can now be deleted from Master, Invited All Day and Just the Evening (Removes them for iWedding - NOT deleted from Contacts).
- To-do items - our prepopulated ones and the ones you add (Deletes them permanently).
- Custom Budget Items which you add (Deletes them permanently).
- Wedding Party guests - removes them from the wedding party but leaves them on Master Guest List.
- Sections for all ‘My Wedding’ categories (Removes them from list - can be added back with ‘+’ button).
PLEASE NOTE* iWedding DOES NOT and actually CANNOT delete a contact from your device - To delete a contact you must go into Apple’s Contacts App - edit the contact and press the large red ‘Delete Contact’ at the bottom of the screen.
To-do Items
Should I be able to select a To-do item on the Home Screen?
No. This is meant to be a quick reference guide only.
Am I able to delete a To-do item?
Yes, as of v1.2 or higher you can delete any to-do item by the usual ’swipe to delete’ - this includes the ones we put in. As of v1.3 any extra To-dos added will not have the word ‘Extra:’ placed in front.
Can I get the an original To-do item back if I deleted it?
No. You have deleted it from the database - But remember you can simply add custom one back in that says the same thing. The only way to restore all original To-do items is to RESET iwedding - but this will delete all your other data as well.
Guest Lists
How do I move people around the Seating Plan?
Use the standard - ‘Edit’ button to activate the ability to move the guests. Then press and hold the Icon
and move the guest to the appropriate table/position. Although iWedding is able to move guests to other tables by this method, we suggest entering the tables manually in the Guest List Details Screen and then Move the guest on the table. The moving of guest over a lot of tables is not advised due to device performance.
Why do my guests not show up on the Seating Plan?
Guests will only appear when they are part of ‘Invited All Day’ and marked as RSVP Received and they are Confirmed.
What do the little symbols in ‘Master Guest List’ mean?
Not on any list
Invited all day
Just the evening
In Wedding Party
Can I change the meal choices available?
Yes. Go into My Wedding section, Guest Lists, in the top-right corner - press Meals? button.
I want to have more meal options. Is there any way to record this?
Yes. Choose ‘Other’ from meal choices and enter option into Other Requirements box. The information entered here will be present on bottom of the Summary ‘Invited All Day’ Email.
What order are the guest lists in?
The guest list for ‘Invited All Day’ is listed in the same order as the seating plan. This allows couples and families to be viewed together. The ‘Just the Evening’ and ‘Master Guest List’ are currently presented (v1.1) in the order they were added to iWedding.
Summaries Section
Why do items, or other information, not show up in the Summary?
The business must be marked ‘As Chosen’ or ‘Booked’ to show up in the Summary.
Why am I not able to send an Email Summary?
Please ensure you have setup your email ‘Mail’ app and then check that you have entered you desired email address in the Export settings - top-right corner of Summaries Section.
Can I email the summaries to myself?
Of Course, just enter your email as normal. Mail app will simply send it to itself.
iWedding Online
What is iWedding Online and why do I want to create an account?
iWedding Online is the special area of our website we have created to allow users of iWedding to share their information. iWEDDING ONLINE IS NOT A BACKUP OF YOUR DATA. It creates a webpage specially formatted for the iPhone or iPod Touch. Once you have created an account you will receive an email asking you to activate your account. On your device - Enter your login details into ‘Export Details’ - Top right in Summaries. Then choose the ‘Export to Web’ tab on the bottom of screen - when you tap on a summary it will be uploaded to your account.
How do I see to iWedding Online on an iPhone or iPod Touch?

iPhone and iPod Touch are able to create an Icon and place it on your HomeScreen to allow quick access to web sites. When you are on iWedding Online - in Safari - Press the + button to add a bookmark and choose ‘Add to Home Screen’. You will now have a special iWedding Icon on your device’s Home screen.
Photos
How do I add a Photo? When I tap on ‘Photos’ button on Home Screen the ‘+’ button is grayed out?
There are 2 places to add photos in iWedding. The first - in each business - on the business detail screen there is a ‘Photos’ button in the top-right corner. Secondly, you can add photos to a ‘General’ category using the Photos viewer from the Home Screen.
How do I view only the photos for one business?
In the Home Screen ‘Photos’ - tap on the Filter button. You can set your filter to All, Geneneral or any business you have already added a photo to.
How do I save a photo in no particular business?
Change your filter to General. The ‘+’ button will now be active and your photo will be labelled a general photo.
What resolution are my pictures saved at in iWedding?
The image is saved at the iPhone’s / iPod’s screen resolution of 320 x 480
If I added an image/photo from my Photos App or Camera Roll - When I delete the Photo in iWedding, is it also deleted from Apple’s Photo App?
No. The photo was copied into iWedding and you actually only delete the copy. EXcept - Photos taken directly by using the iPhone camera in iWedding will be deleted permanently.
Budget Section
Why can’t I click a budget item on budget planner?
The cost of items already present are automatically calculated from total values when an item is marked ‘chosen ‘ or ‘booked’ in its details section. To add an extra budget item press the + button and enter its name and cost. If you wish to delete it then ‘Swipe to Delete’.
How is ‘Total Current Spending’ calculated in Budget Planner?
This total includes all items and events that are marked ‘As Chosen’ or ‘Booked’.
I don’t agree with your budget assistant on the amount I should spend, I think it should be ……..?
It’s just a guide. We did alot of research to establish the average amount spent on sections of weddings and these percentage figures are our estimated average. If you disagree with them, that’s fine - it’s only a guide.
Backup
Backup, Backup, Backup!!!!
Please ensure that you perform a backup in iTunes before proceeding with any update. To perform a Backup - plug your device into your computer - goto iTunes - highlight your device in the left side window pane - Ctrl-Click (right click) - Choose Backup.
How to Restore from a Backup
- To perform a restore from a backup - you MUST disable the auto sync in iTunes BEFORE plugging in your iPhone or iPod. If you fail to disable the autosync then you will lose your good backup.
- To disable autosync goto ‘Preferences’ for iTunes, in DEVICES tab - select ‘Disable Automatic Syncing for iPhones and iPods’. This will prevent your device from writing over your good backup when plugged in. Now follow the directions on Apple Support page - Backing Up, updating, and restoring your iPhone and iPod touch
- Remember to re-enable autosync after you have finished restoring your data.
Errors
iWedding seems to have deleted my data for a business/guest?
There may have been a corruption of the data for this item - iWedding has fixed the error but your data may have been too badly corrupted to be fixed so new blank data has been created.
You must try to do a restore to recover your data. If all else fails then a ‘Full Reset’ is necessary.
iWedding does not seem to work properly?
There may have been an error when downloading or installing iWedding. This can occur for many reasons - including corrupt download from iTunes or Phone rings when installing app. Please go to our Reinstall Guide to ensure a good installation
Uninstalling
When I reset iWedding what actually happens?
Resetting iWedding means that all the groups added to Contact List App are removed. It will not remove other groups that do not belong to this application. This does not delete the contacts from the iPhone/iPod Touch, just removes them from the iWedding groups. Reset also means that all Business and Guest Application Data is deleted. The Application then Exits to your devices Home Screen (to the user the screen will simply go black and go to Home Screen). If you happen to open iWedding again, the groups will be recreated and a new, fresh and clean Database will be setup.
How do I uninstall iWedding?
Please first RESET iWedding to clean up application groups in Contact List and then Uninstall as normal by pressing the iWedding Icon until an X appears and then confirm uninstall.

I noticed that there are a couple of spelling irregularities i.e. Favors. why?
iWedding is currently based only on the US English Dictionary, we hope to add localized spelling in a future update.
Why are there no suggestions for the First Dance Song Listed?
You have your device set to a region that iWedding does not have Song links for. Currently there are links for US, Canada, Australia and the UK. If you would like suggestions added for your region, please drop us an email with your country as the subject and we will try and include them in a future update.
PREVIOUS VERSIONs FAQ’s - No Longer valid in v1.5
Why do I now have lots of Groups in my Contact App / Address Book?
iWedding uses the Contact App to keep track of the guests and businesses by adding groups. This means that you can use printing options available in programs such as ‘Address Book’ on MacOSX to print out, for example, - envelopes or labels for all guests who are ‘Invited All Day’. The groups can be removed all at once by Resetting iWedding after you have finished using it. To make sure iTunes syncs your address book , go to iTunes Device Preferences , Info Tab and tick ‘Sync Address Book Contacts’ - ‘All Contacts’.
Can I alter these groups or delete them?
iWedding does not work without these groups. But You can now add to these groups on you Mac OSX in address book, just drag contacts into these groups on your addressbook and the next time you sync you device, iWedding will discover them and import them.
